Di Phelps-Lister

Di Phelps Lister studied art while at teacher training college, and then followed a career teaching young children for many years. In 1989 she took early retirement and returned to studying art completing Foundation and HNC courses in fine art.  On completion of this she became a member of  Wimbledon Art Studios for 16 years, taking part in their twice yearly exhibitions. Until 2020 she has run watercolour classes in Hampton and hopes to resume these soon. She now works in watercolour, oils and acrylics in her own studio at home. She is a member of Teddington Artists, Richmond Art Society and Twickenham Art Circle and exhibits with them regularly.

In our increasingly complex and busy world she tries in her work to give the viewer time and space to reconnect with the world around us. Her work is concerned with the effects of light and water on the landscape and is a reflection of her responses to the places she has visited both in the UK and overseas. She has work in collections in the UK, Europe, China, Australia
