Janet White 

Having lived most of her life outside of Hong Kong where she was born, Janet is using ceramics to connect with her Chinese heritage.  So she frequently uses oriental motifs in her work. She is also drawn to the vast expanse of the sky and the sea.  This is often expressed through the surface decoration on her pieces.

Janet enjoys all aspects of the ceramics process and is constantly exploring and learning.  She throws on the wheel and also enjoys hand building.  You will find in her collection vessels where she uses both these techniques. She makes glazes and combines them to give interesting contrasts between smooth and textured, shiny and matte making the pieces tactile as well as visually interesting.
